Overview

The Statue of Unity, standing at an astounding height of 182 meters, is a tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the "Iron Man of India." Located on the banks of the Narmada River near Kevadia in Gujarat, this colossal statue is not only a feat of engineering but also a symbol of India's unity and strength. Surrounded by breathtaking landscapes and a plethora of tourist attractions, it offers visitors a glimpse into India's rich history and culture.

Historical Legacy

Inaugurated on October 31, 2018, the Statue of Unity commemorates Sardar Patel's efforts in uniting India post-independence. Designed by renowned sculptor Ram V. Sutar, the statue was constructed in a record time of just 33 months, showcasing India's capability in executing mega-scale projects.

Architectural Brilliance

The statue's base itself is 58 meters high and houses an expansive museum that delves into the life and achievements of Sardar Patel. Built with 70,000 tonnes of cement and 6,500 tonnes of steel, the statue is designed to withstand wind speeds up to 180 km/h and earthquakes up to 6.5 Richter scale.
